For the first time ever, the four day school associations, representing a wide range of Jewish day schools and denominations, came together to share ideas, inspire one another, and promote Jewish education across the spectrum. Sitting at dinner next to colleagues from a community school and an Orthodox school or debating a case study on teacher recruitment with professional and lay leaders from Reform and Solomon Schechter schools, I was struck by the natural sense of collaboration, of shared purpose and commitment, and of earnest discussion and debate.
